Study: Hepatitis C antibody tests and positive rates in Switzerland
First retrospective longitudinal study of hepatitis C antibody test frequency and positive rates in Switzerland, from 2007 to 2017.
One possible interpretation is that hepatitis C is increasingly being sought in populations with intermediate to low prevalence.
The survey period took place before and during the approval of the new hepatitis C drugs.
The annual survey of the number of tests performed and the corresponding positive rates as part of the mandatory reporting system would be important to obtain additional indicators on the course of the hepatitis C epidemic in Switzerland. Only in this way can targeted measures be derived to achieve the goal of eliminating hepatitis C by 2030.
