Covid Pandemic Management in the Addiction Field

How did people with addiction get through the Covid 19 pandemic? An exchange organized by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

To start the conversation, participants will be briefly introduced and asked what motivates them to still work in the addiction field after more than 25 years.

Afterwards, various topics will be discussed: What impact did the pandemic have on people affected by addiction? Did people excluded from society experience this challenging time differently than expected?

And what could the lockdowns do to the drug market? Here in advance: absolutely nothing!

People were no longer allowed to travel, but drugs continued to be supplied without interruption. A reminder that the war on drugs cannot be won with repression alone. In addition, Swiss addiction policy is discussed with its consequences and in comparison with America.

Crises can offer opportunities - the Corona crisis in the field of addiction has shown us this impressively.
