Proband wanted for smoking cessation study

For a scientific study on smoking cessation with the help of nicotine-containing e-cigarettes, we are looking for persons over 18 years of age who have been smoking 5 or more cigarettes daily for at least 1 year and are seeking to quit smoking.

Aim of the study

To test the effectiveness, safety and tolerance of nicotine-containing e-cigarettes for smoking cessation

In total, 4 clinic visits (90 or 60 minutes) and 4 phone calls (15 minutes) for consultation take place over 24 months. During the clinic visit, personal details are recorded, measurements are taken and questionnaires are filled out. All data is treated confidentially. No personal benefit can be guaranteed for the participants.

At random, half of the participants will receive an e-cigarette with nicotine-containing refill fluids and smoking cessation advice. The second half of the participants will receive smoking cessation counselling only.

Examinations within the scope of the study are free of charge. The e-cigarette and other refill liquids can be kept or a voucher for shops in Zurich worth CHF 50 (also valid in pharmacies) can be obtained. After 12 and 24 months 30 CHF for all participating persons.
